How to become a Legionnaire
Visit our Post or Download the Application. Eligible veterans applying for first time membership must submit the following information to the Post Membership Committee.
Complete the American LEgion Membership Application. (Print two (2) completed copies. Keep one copy for your records. Drop off or Mail the other copy to the above address, together with your dues payment. (Dues amount on Application).
Provide a copy of your DD214.
Pay the membership dues (amount shown on application). Make checks payable to American Legion Post 58 with "New Membership" on the Memo Line. DO NOT SEND CASH.
If the information is correct, membership will be approved and then a membership card will be mailed to you.

Transfers
Veterans applying for transfers from your current post to Post 58 must submit the following:
Complete the American LEgion Membership Application.
Provide a copy of your DD214.
Provide a copy of your membership card.
Membership dues payment, if current years due are paid. If current dues are paid, please pay dues for next year's membership.
Eligibility Dates
Membership Eligibility in the American Legion is based on HONORABLE service in one of the U.S. Armed Forces in one of the following conflicts.
World War I: Apr 6, 1917 to Nov 11, 1918
World War II: Dec 7, 1941 to Sep 2, 1945
Korean War: Jun 27, 1950 to Jul 27, 1953
Vietnam War: Aug 2, 1964 to Apr 30, 1975
Lebanon/Grenada: Oct 25 to Nov. 2, 1983
Panama: Dec 20, 1989 to Jan 31, 1990
Persian Gulf War: Aug 2, 1990 to Feb 28, 1991
Global War of Terror: Sep 11, 2001 to Aug 30, 2021
