Rules & Code of Conduct

All Members and non-members will -

• Treat every Veteran, Legionnaire, Auxiliary Member, member of the Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Rider, Post Employee, and guest with courtesy and respect.

• Conduct themselves with dignity and refrain from loud, profane, abusive, or threatening language.

• Respect the property of the Post and of others, and refrain from theft, damage, or misuse.

• Obey all federal, state, and local laws while on Post premises; abide by the Constitution, Bylaws, and House Rules of the American Legion and of the Post.

Prohibited Conduct

The following will not be tolerated from any Member, guest, or visitor:

• NO discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or disability.

• NO Bullying, or physical, mental, or psychological abuse of any person, possession, use, or distribution of illegal drugs on Post property.

• NO abuse of alcohol, or the purchase of alcohol for a minor or for any person who has been refused service,

• NO carrying of weapons, openly or concealed, except as permitted by law and Post policy.

• NO political, religious, or personal arguments that disturb the good order of the Post.

Guests and Non-Members

Guests and non-members are welcome when accompanied by a Member in good standing and signed into the guest register.  The sponsoring Member is responsible for the conduct of each guest, and guests must depart when their host departs.  Guests will observe every provision of this Code of Conduct.  Any violation by a guest may result in disciplinary action against both the guest and the sponsoring Member.

Enforcement

Post officers, Post Employees, and the “Bartender(s)-on-Duty” are authorized to enforce this Code of Conduct and may direct any person who violates these standards to leave the premises.  Violations by Members may result in suspension or revocation of Post privileges as provided in the Constitution and Bylaws.  Conduct involving a weapon, illegal drugs, theft, or harm to a person may result in removal and referral to law enforcement.
